Speech & Language Therapist
Marina Lubbe
Marina qualified from the University of Pretoria in 2019 and did her community service year at Chris Hani Barragwanath Academic Hospital (the 3rd largest hospital in the world) where she gained lots of experience. She went straight into private practice after her community service year and is fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans. She’s always had a love for working with and supporting children and their families, and this passion has driven her life pursuit to assist the paediatric population. Marina is in the process of becoming a reading therapist and she is also a lactation consultant and enjoys helping mommies and their babies to reach their breastfeeding goals.
Marina believes that children learn through play, and that small victories should be celebrated. Marina runs group therapy at Cannons Creek Independent School, and is part of the team at Mindstretch Preschool. She is also based in Somerset West and often does school visits at Little Stars.
Marina lives with her husband and two four-legged babies. She loves the outdoors and going on adventures, but also enjoys staying cozy indoors with a good movie. Marina sees herself as a good cook and crochets as a hobby.
"If children feel safe, they can take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, learn to trust, share their feelings, and GROW" - Alfie Kohn
